This is now a past outing .. you can read about it soon!

But both the Visitor Centre and Walkhighlands recommend arriving by bus as there is no local parking.
One option is to travel on the 09:15 train from Glasgow Queen Street arriving at Haymarket at 10:00 .. another is to travel on the Scottish Citylink 900 bus from Buchanan Bus Station which leaves at 08:30 and arrives at Haymarket at 09:43.
From Haymarket Station walk to the road junction and turn right into Dalry Road (A70). At the bus stop catch the number 44 for Balerno. The Visitor Centre is opposite the second bus stop after Slateford Railway Station. Buses are every 12 minutes and journey time is about 10 minutes.
(Click the pic for a route map .. an OS map section isn't useful!)
The walking distance for the route is 7.5 miles and should take about 3 hours. If the weather is poor, the walk can be shortened at numerous points where a bus can be caught back to the centre of Edinburgh.
At the end of the walk, we'll take the bus from Leith to Waverley station (close to the bus station) where the train or bus can be taken back to Glasgow.
If you plan to come on this walk, please let me know by Tuesday 26 November ...
