Day Trip to The Cobbler (Arrochar)
on Sunday 8 October 2017
Map required is LandRanger 56 Loch Lomond & Inveraray
but you can download a useful map section below ....
This trip will be by car pool, leaving Cathcart at 08:00 from the slightly adjusted meeting point near the Inverlair Avenue entrance, outside the gate. Please be there 10 minutes early so that we can work out any car sharing arrangements.
We'll stop at the 3 Villages Café/Diner/Pit Stop in Arrochar for a cup of coffee, and maybe some breakfast. Those making their own way can meet us there at around 09:00-09:15.
The 3 Villages Café in Arrochar opens at 09:00, and you can reach it by turning left onto the A814 towards Helensburgh .. the Café is on the left, past the Arrochar Hotel.
THE COBBLER (Corbett, 884m)
The planned route starts from the Succoth (Loch Long) car park at NN29504. Please note that this is a "Pay and Display" car park, so if you are driving, remember to bring some pound coins.
We'll follow the straight-forward route to the Cobbler. After crossing the A83, we'll head up the zig-zags and follow the track north-east to the col between The Cobbler and Beinn Narnain (Bealach a'Mhaim). Here we'll turn south and climb to the summit along the north ridge of the mountain. The return is by the same route.
|Likely time||5 - 6 hours|

After our walk, we'll visit The Village Inn for some refreshments.
If you would like to join this day trip, please get in touch a few days beforehand, preferably by Thursday, 5 October. There are some lower-level options in the area, such as a walk along Glen Loin. If you are interested in a lower-level walk, please get in touch to discuss suitable options, or if you need help plotting a route. Pick-up arrangements can also be made if you are planning a one-way walk.
