This is now a past outing .. you can read about it soon!
This trip will be by car pool, leaving Cathcart at 08:00 from the usual meeting point on Inverlair Avenue. Please be there 10 minutes early so that we can work out any car sharing arrangements.
On the way to our start point, we’ll stop at the Bonnie and Ben Café in Tarbet (near the pier) for a cup of coffee. Those making their own way can meet us there at around 09:00.
High Level Route
CRUACH ARDRAIN (Munro, 1046m)
Our ascent of Cruach Ardrain starts at the Community Woodland car park, just off the A85 on the eastern outskirts of Crianlarch (NN389251). The route zig-zags up through the forest on forestry tracks until it emerges at 400m below Grey Height. From Grey Height we follow the ridge via Meall Dhamh to the summit. The descent route is via Stob Garbh (Munro Top, 959m) and Stob Coire Bhuidhe and down to meet the forestry track at NN396247. From here, forestry tracks are followed back to the car. Alternatively, we could simply reverse the ascent route, depending on time and the conditions.
|Likely time||6 - 7 hours|

Low Level Route
West Highland Way from Inverarnan to Kirkton Farm
Arrangements can be made to leave a car in the layby on the A82 near Kirkton Farm where the West Highland Way crosses the road. The route follows the West Highland Way along Glen Falloch towards Crianlarich and then through the forest to the endpoint. The route could be shortened by 3km by ending the walk in Crianlarich.
|Likely time||4 - 5 hours|
After our walk, we’ll visit the Crianlarich Hotel for some refreshments.
If you would like to join the club on this outing, please reply .. by Friday 5 October at the latest .. giving an indication of your travel plans if you are not starting the day at Cathcart.
