Weekend Trip to Pitlochry from
Friday 17 to Sunday 19 November 2017
Main maps required are LandRanger 52 Pitlochry to Crieff, and
43 Braemar to Blair Atholl, but you may need others if you plan to walk a little further afield.
This is now a past outing. Like to read about it?
This trip will be based at The Moulin Hotel just outside Pitlochry, last visited by the Club in February 2015. As well as Ben Vrackie, a Corbett whose track begins across the road from the hotel, there are numerous walks in the surrounding area.
Accommodation and Who's Going
At the moment there are 11 definites for the weekend ... Susan L, Debbie, Bob, James and Susan, Steven and Hillary, Ian and Iris, Gordon and Andrew and a possibility of Willie (if he can make it).
6 rooms have currently been booked .. 3 doubles and 3 twins .. and the cost per member is anticipated to be £87 for the weekend after the subsidy has been applied, but I'll contact people with payment details nearer the time.
There are still rooms available at the Hotel, so if you want to join us for the full weekend, then contact Susan L at the e-mail address below as soon as possible. However if you are only coming for part of the weekend, then please make your own arrangements directly with the Moulin Hotel [01796 472196] or any other hotel or B&B nearby.
Pitlochry is approximately 80 miles and a 1.5 hour drive from Glasgow on the M90, then on the infamous A9. Car sharing and any hill plans for the Friday can be discussed a few days beforehand. Let me know if you have any specific plans for the weekend.
There are many walking opportunities in the area and the websites below contain a few suggestions .. the final plans can be made nearer the time.
