The January 'Weekday' Walk will actually be on a Saturday, and incorporate the Club's traditional NEW YEAR WALK.
It's on SATURDAY 4th JANUARY and will be a trip to the Lowther Hills .. making ascents of East Mount Lowther (631m), Lowther Hill (725m) and Green Lowther (732m).
We'll meet at the car park at the far end of the village of Wanlockhead, just beyond the junction at NS873127, at 10am.

We'll walk up to where the Southern Upland Way meets the road at NS876129 then follow the Southern Upland Way path until we meet the main track. We'll follow this for a short distance before taking the path towards East Mount Lowther.
From there, we'll return and then climb back up to the main track and up to Lowther Hill. We'll then take the road to Green Lowther where we can enjoy the usual drinks and cake.
We'll return by following the road back down to the Southern Upland Way path back to the road.

The route distance is about 13km with ascent of 610m, which will probably take between 4 and 4.5 hours.
After the walk we could see if the Wanlockhead Inn is open for refreshments.
