Weekend Trip to the Newtonmore area

Possible map required is LandRanger 35 Kingussie & Monadhliath Mountains,
but you may need others if you're walking further afield.
In a change to the proposed trip to Mull, because of uncertainty due to temporary changes to the Oban-Craignure ferry, the May weekend trip will now be to Newtonmore, a location we have visited many times in the past .. but usually in January.
There are many hills, walking routes, and places to visit and explore in the surrounding area.
The proposed venue for the weekend is the Balavil Hotel which is on the Main Street in Newtonmore next to the Co-op supermarket.
There are other hotels, B&B's and hostels in the village, and mostly on the Main Street, eg the Glen Hotel and Newtonmore Hostel.
As it will be the start of the holiday season, early booking via the hotel web site is recommended as accommodation could be in short supply .. and more costly the closer we get to May!
It is also suggested to book B&B accommodation to keep the evening meal arrangements flexible.
