on Saturday 19 August 2017
Map required is LandRanger 50 Glen Orchy & surrounding area,
but you can download the relevant map section below ....
This is now a past outing .. you can read about it soon!
Please note that car sharing arrangements will be made a day or two before the walk. A pick-up at Cathcart will only be made if agreed in advance .. the day will not start here as usual in the past.
Those making their own way can meet us at the Green Welly in Tyndrum at 09:00.
Meall nan Eun (1044m) and Stob Coir’ an Albannaich (928m):
The planned route starts at the car park near the southern end of the glen (as for Ben Starav), turning left after crossing the river and then taking the path that heads south-west up Glen Ceitlein. We’ll climb to the 780m bealach between Meall nan Eun and Meall Tarsuinn and then on to the summit of Meall nan Eun. The route to Stob Coir’ an Albannaich takes us back to the bealach, over Meall Tarsuinn, down to pt. 754m and on to the summit via the eastern ridge. From the summit of Stob Coir’ an Albannaich, we’ll follow the boundary line to the bealach at pt. 738, from where we descend by the footpath along the Allt Mheuran and back to the car park.
|Likely time||7-8 hours|

If you would like to join this day trip, please get in touch a few days beforehand. There are quite a few lower-level options in the area, e.g. a walk along the shore of Loch Etive or a walk through the Lairig Eilde and the Lairig Gartain (around Buachaille Etive Beag, approximately 14km, 500m of ascent, 4 – 5 hours). If you are interested in a low-level walk, please get in touch to discuss suitable options or if you need help plotting a route. Pick-up arrangements can also be made if you are planning a one-way walk.
