March Weekday Walk to the Falls of Clyde

At New Lanark  The Corra Linn  At Bonnington Linn

6 walkers and Boris the dog met at the New Lanark car park for the circular walk around the Falls of Clyde. In a variation from the previous two visits, we did the walk in an anti-clockwise direction. This had the advantage of negotiating the couple of steep ascents and descents between New Lanark and Kirkfieldbank at the start of the walk and not at the end. The weather forecast was for grey skies and showers with sunny intervals later on - and it was correct! The trees gave us some shelter from the worst of the showers. The recent wet weather had made the path muddy in places but it also made the Falls more spectacular and noisier than usual.

After the walk we visited the New Lanark Mill cafe for food and drinks. In the cafe, Steven's hydration system disgraced itself by leaking onto the floor. He tried to put the blame on Boris but when the bucket and mop arrived to clean up the spillage we made it clear he was the culprit and Boris was blameless. Walking back up to the car park the sun was shining so we stopped for a photo to record our enjoyable day out.

GPS data : distance 11.4km, total time (including cafe visit) 4hr 14mins, walking time 3hrs 10mins.
