Unfortunately there's no Log Book for 1999!

But here's something from the August issue of "Club News" written by Mark Setford ...

In early May, the Club had its first trip to the Island of Rum (Saturday 1st to Monday 3rd).  The weather on the Saturday was spectacular, with the small ferry visiting Eigg and Muck en route to Rum.  Most members attempted all or some of the Rum Cuillin on the Sunday which was overcast but dry.  Monday was spent travelling home as we were warned we might not get off the island later in the day.  Everyone had a good time and are looking forward to the next trip to explore more of the island.

The May day trip was to Glencoe on Saturday 15th, and as usual this trip was well attended.  The main group walked up Beinn a'Chrulaiste at the back of the Kingshouse .. I suspect so that they could get to the pub quickly.  Others walked the West Highland Way.

The late May weekend was to Torridon.  On Saturday, the main group assembled on Spidean Coire nan Clach (Beinn Eighe) to celebrate Allan Boyd's last Munro with champagne and biscuits .. congratulations to Allan.

Allan Boyd reaches the 284!

Sunday was a beautiful day and Beinn Alligin and Beinn Dearg were climbed.  On Monday some keen members took in Ben Wyvis and Little Wyvis on the way home.

YOU can turn this situation around by sending in YOUR recollections and pics to the webmaster!!

Here's a few starters for ten ....
